Tracy, as Director of Residential Operations is responsible for managing the operations of 49 residential facilities, including housing related processes relating to opening/closing; occupancy management; room selection/assignments; off-campus permissions, and assist in developing renovation/renewal/replacement schedules for capital plans and construction.  Tracy previously was the Director of Auxiliary Housing, responsible for all of Brown’s residential & auxiliary real estate programs; specifically, the Brown to Brown Home Ownership Program; Undergraduate, Graduate, Staff & Faculty Off-Campus housing and Visiting Scholar housing; property management liaison for the Brown owned Haffenreffer Estate in Bristol; and managed housing relocation services for new University employees. She has worked at Brown University since 2008, starting as the Real Estate Coordinator and transitioning to Real Estate Manager in 2013, managing real estate transactions and commercial retail properties.  Tracy has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island and completed Boston University's Commercial Real Estate certificate program. She is also a 2013-2014 Brown Ambassador, and received the 2017 Excellence Award from Brown for Diversity & Inclusion.  She now serves on the Executive Officers’ Committee as Vice-President for the Association of University Real Estate Officials.

Operations

Liz has been a staff member in Residential Life since 2007, prior to her position as Facilities and Operations Coordinator, Liz worked as the Administrative Assistant supporting professional staff and providing front line communication with many who contact the office. In her current position, Liz oversees the day to day operations of the key office which include, initiating and/or following up on Facilities Management service orders for facility repairs of building and laundry machines, managing the central key control system, tracking lock changes and lockouts, and supervising student office assistant staff.

Maria is the Executive Assistant to the Director of Residential Operations and oversees the daily operations of the Residential Life Main Office. Maria has been with the Office of Residential Life since 2003 and is passionate about helping Brown University students. She is a graduate of the 2013-2014 Brown Ambassador Class and has received the 2008 Brown University Excellence Award for Customer Service as well as the 2011 Campus Life Innovation Excellence Award. Maria has been a Seekonk Save A Pet Society volunteer for almost 30 years. She has four grandchildren and loves to spend as much time as she can with them.

As a first-generation college student, Nick earned his B.S. in History at The College at Brockport before earning his Ed.M. in Student Affairs Administration at the University at Buffalo. During grad school, Nick worked to connect undergraduate students to faculty through meaningful experiential learning opportunities. He also served as the Housing Manager for the [email protected] program as part of his ACUHO-I graduate internship. Nick returned to Brown in July of 2018 to work as the Program Manager for Operations, where he oversees housing assignments for [email protected], as well as the early arrival, winter subletting, and extended housing processes. Steven has been with Brown for 12 years and in his 2nd year with ResLife. Steven has spent many years in various Customer Service Management positions. Steven now serves students, parents, faculty and staff in all dorm room related matters. He is the main liaison between residents and the Facilities departments. He manages all dorm furniture, room renovations and health and safety inspections. Steven also works closely with Student Conduct and the Fire Marshall in regards to room concerns and code violations. Outside of work Steven is a very proud single parent of an accomplished son. Steven enjoys cycling, golf, photography, long drives and all types of racing!

Wendy came to Residential Life from the Controller's Office in the fall of 2018.  She has a BS in Accounting and is currently working on completing her MBA. Wendy is responsible for budget management and analysis, expenditure processing, employee reimbursements, student payroll, and ensuring University financial policy compliance for the department. In her spare time she enjoys long distance running, hiking, kayaking and spending time with friends and family.

The Assistant Director of Administrative Operations manages housing assignments, housing lottery, commencement housing, and the Residential Life website. 


Area Coordinators 

Six Area Coordinators (ACs) comprise the team of staff who support the residential experience. ACs facilitate all aspects of the daily operations of the residence halls and supervise approximately 25 paraprofessional staff members each. ACs coordinate campus-wide and regionally-based programming efforts to cultivate community and foster and student development. ACs provide individual student support, assist with crisis intervention, serve in a regular on-call rotation, and address facilities concerns.

Oversees: Keeney Quad. Room Changes; Residential Peer Leader Program

Nanci grew up in Westerly, Rhode Island, a small beach town only 45 minutes away. Before beginning her career at Brown, Nanci spent five years at Boston College, where she studied sociology as an undergraduate and received a Master's in Social Work with a clinical concentration in mental health. Nanci is deeply passionate about promoting multiculturalism, identity development, social justice and equity. She enjoys her work as an AC because it allows her to support individuals, empower communities, and advocate for institutional change. Things she loves: the beach, Netflix/Hulu, spicy food, learning people's life stories. Things she hates: cold cheese, systems of oppression, dollar stores that sell things for more than $1.

Erin hails from Detroit, MI. She received a BA in Biopsychology, Cognition, & Neuroscience and a minor in Gender & Health from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) in 2014. After completing her undergraduate education, Erin served with Americorps, working in college access for first-generation, low-income, and refugee high school students. Erin received an MA in Higher Education Leadership from the University of San Diego in May 2018, where she worked in Multicultural Affairs. Erin joined the Office of Residential Life in June 2018. Erin loves: ice cream, dog videos, Michigan football, and all things Beyonce. Erin hates: birds (and most animals that fly), when her food touches, and tomatoes.

A Los Angeles, California native, Brittney joined the Office of Residential Life in Fall of 2018. Brittney has participated in a multitude of roles at previous institutions including fraternity & sorority life, student conduct & community standards, residence life, international students’ education, transition programs, as well as diversity & inclusion. Brittney earned her Masters of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Bachelors in Anthropology from Humboldt State University. Brittney is passionate about helping students be engaged and authentic leaders. In her role, she oversees the students who live in the Greek and Program Houses on Wriston Quadrangle. She spends her free time reading, acquainting herself with new information, and exploring the sights and sounds of the New England region.

Amanda comes to Brown from Landmark College in Putney Vermont where she was a Resident Dean and Center for Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator. At Landmark she worked entirely with students with learning differences, helping them build self-advocacy and life skills through residential and diversity programs. At Brown, Amanda oversees approximately 25 Residential Peer Leaders in the first year area, working wih Residential Peer Counselors, Woman Peer Counselors and Minority Peer Counselors to welcome incoming students into the community. Amanda has a Masters of Communications and BA in Politics and Law and Women, gender and sexuality studies from Bryant University. Outside of residential life, she enjoys games and painting.

Mark joined Brown University in January 2019 after the completion of his Masters of Education in Student Affairs Counseling at Bridgewater State University. Mark has served in a number of roles at various colleges and universities within the areas of tutoring and learning assistance, disability resources, academic advising, residence life, diversity and inclusion, and new student programming. Mark focuses his work on student leadership development and social justice efforts from an intersectional lens. In 2015, Mark earned his Bachelors of Science in Floriculture and Nursery Production from Delaware Valley University.
