Careers in the Common Good (CCG) is a resource for students and alumni interested in nonprofit, social enterprise or public service careers and working for the common good. CCG provides alumni conversations, paid internship programs, targeted career fairs, post-graduate data, advising, and other career field resources for students and alumni interested in internships, jobs, and careers in the common good. Use the links below to find out more.







CCG Paid Internship Programs:

  • SPRINTprovides financial assistance to a limited number of students pursuing career-related internships over the summer

  • Careers in the Common Good Summer in New York City (CCG in NYC): paid internship program that connects Brown students with non-profits, start-ups, and public service agencies in New York City to help students build skills and a pathway into the non-profit and public service fields

  • iProvprovides 30 undergraduate students with a stipend to work full-time internships with nonprofit organizations based in the greater Providence area

  • Careers in the Common Good Virtual Winternships: facilitates professional opportunities at social enterprise and nonprofit organizations in Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Providence, and Washington, D.C. for two weeks over winter break

  • Echoing Green Social Entrepreneurship: offers students with professional practical experience related to social entrepreneurship in domestic and international locations with Echoing Green Fellows

  • Handshake at Brownjob and internship search tool used by hundreds of schools targeted at graduating students, including full-time employment opportunities

  • BrownConnect: job and internship search tool, including Bruno internships offered by Brown alumni, parents, or friends in which Brown students have an advantage in the hiring process

  • Swearer Center's BrownEngage: volunteer and internship opportunities with Swearer Center community partners

  • CCG Career Field Resources: detailed industry information, well-known organizations, alumni in the field, and professional organizations for a range of careers in the common good

You can schedule a meeting with any CareerLAB counselor to discuss common good internships, jobs, and careers. Jim Amspacher -- one of CareerLAB's four counselors -- works with employers and alumni to develop common good internship and job opportunities for Brown students.
