APMA Peer Advising

Welcome to Brown’s Applied Math Peer Advising! The goal of this program is to provide you with a new kind of advising: instead of assigning you to one advisor, this website provides you open access to all of our advisors in order to give you a broader range of perspectives. We hope that you will benefit from this more flexible approach.

The “Peer Advisors” button below will take you to a page with a list of our advisors. On the left side of that page, we have provided tags that summarize advisor experiences and backgrounds in order to help ease the search for your advisor(s). You can check off relevant tags to narrow down the list of advisors that you see. Once you find a group of advisors that are relevant to your interests, click on each advisor’s name to see their profile page, which contains information related to their academic, personal, and professional experience.

There are two ways to find your advisor(s).

  1. You may want to find one or more advisors that have an academic, career, extracurricular, or personal experience that you want to learn more about. Once you find someone you want to connect with, you can reach out to them via the email they provide on their profile page. If you are not sure what to say when you reach out to them, here is a template you can use.

  2. While some students may know exactly what they are searching for, many may not. No worries! You can fill out this Google form that tells us about your background and interests, and we will connect you with several advisors whose experiences may intrigue you.
