Data science at Brown can be found in most departments. DSI offers a number of ways for faculty and researchers to find community, collaborators, or support. Please reach out with questions or suggestions!
Network with colleagues
- Affiliate with DSI: Contact us if you would like to be a member of our Affiliated Faculty
- Share your research: Give a talk in our seminar series; or reach out to us with other networking ideas
- Host a speaker: DSI can sponsor data-related talks for an interdisciplinary audience
- Start a reading group: DSI can offer space and help with organization and publicity
Work with data science students
- Undergraduate Data Science Fellows work with faculty partners on data science-related curricular innovations (see some examples here and here)
- Data science master's students are required to do an applied data science practicum. One way for them to fulfill this requirement is to work on campus as a research assistant. A small number of DSI student-research stipends are also available for faculty with no other funding.
