Background
Karen Ball received her B.S. in Psychology from Oberlin College. She has served in a variety of administrative and managerial positions at Brown University since the early 1990s, including management of several grants and programs such as the BioMed Initiative to Maximize Student Development (IMSD) and the Leadership Alliance that seek to increase the participation of underrepresented students in higher education. Ball's responsibilities are currently divided between the Population Studies and Training Center (PSTC) and the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI). She is committed to utilizing her skills and experience to help support the work and research efforts of the PSTC and the SSRI.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day administrative and clerical services and support; Financial management and coordination; Human resources; Management of all vendors, contracts, and professional services agreements; Purchasing; Room scheduling; Travel planning and reimbursements, Event and committee coordination.
