REDCap Classes are hosted by Advance-CTR's Clinical Research Design, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Core and are open to all faculty at degree-granting institutions and the affiliated hospital systems in Rhode Island. Sign up below or email AdvanceRI@brown.edu with questions.
Classes vs. Workshops:
Classes are larger, providing more broad and extended didactics. Time will be allowed for questions, which will be addressed as such time allows. Workshops are smaller, providing a brief overview and then shifting to a personalized small group consultation where we all learn from each other’s challenges.
REDCap Class, Module 2: Using Surveys and Project Planning
Course Description: This course will offer an introduction to building surveys and using survey tools in REDCap. We will cover basic concepts and best practices for building a survey and implementing it in the context of your larger research project. This module is meant to be taken in series following the module for database and database design. If you are building a simple public survey this course may be taken as a standalone module.
This course will be helpful to anyone building a new project in REDCap that involves surveys or interaction with patients or participants as part of data collection.
Requisites: Attendees must have a REDCap account already created. Go to www.LifespanREDCap.org to request an account if you don’t already have one. If you are a new user, your account must be requested two weeks before class, as accounts are created on Wednesdays only. Attendees must also have logged into REDCap and watched the tutorial videos located on the REDCap homepage. Required videos (34 minutes total): “Detailed Overview,” “Data Entry Overview,” and “Introduction to Project Development.”
