Extinct CritiqueExtinct Critique

Anna Kornbluh, Associate Professor of English at the University of Illinois, Chicago will deliver the research lecture “Extinct Critique.” At a time when politicians advocate for the dismantling of the university, and the climate crisis is sending young people into the streets to protest en masse, Kornbluh will explore what habits of mind and modes of analysis can help us assess our current moment. Situating the scholarly turn away from critique within these environmental and institutional contexts, Kornbluh advocates for a critical approach that is affirmative and synthetic. Part of the programming associated with the 2019-20 Pembroke Seminar “The Question of Critique.” Free and open to the public, wheelchair accessible.
