The New York Times on January 26, 2021 featured a beautiful piece on Christina Crosby '82 PhD, a writer and professor of English who died on January 5, 2021. At Brown, Crosby was part of a socialist feminist caucus that helped found Providence's Sojourner House, and the dissertation she wrote here later became her first book. She went on to teach (and was called "a rockstar") at Wesleyan. In 2003, a cycling accident caused partial paralysis and led her to write the book "A Body, Undone: Living on After Great Pain." In April 2016, Crosby visited the Pembroke Center to read from the memoir. Read the full New York Times piece here.
