- WiSE: Women in Science and Engineering
For over 15 years, the WiSE Program at Brown has worked to promote women in science, mathematics and engineering. The program currently serves hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students.

National Academies report written by Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy (COSEPUP). President Simmons served on the distinguished 18-member Committee on Maximizing the Potential of Women in Academic Science and Engineering that produced this report for the National Academies.
- AAUP Faculty Gender Equity Indicators 2006
The four indicators compared in the report for women and men faculty are employment status (full- and part-time); tenure status for full-time faculty; promotion to full professor rank; and average salary for full-time faculty.

Diversity in Science Association gender and race/ethnicity data for PhD attainment and faculty composition in the "Top 50" universities for selected science and engineering disciplines.
