- ADVANCE at Brown Department Chair Workshops
The goal of these workshops is to provide chairs with information and skills that will have a positive effect on faculty development and departmental climate, facilitate communication between chairs to share experiences and best practices, and to integrate the broader goals of the ADVANCE Program by weaving information and discussion about issues of diversity and gender to improve the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women faculty.

- Office for the Vice President for Research (OVPR) Funding Opportunities
Research Seed Funds and Salomon Awards are competitive grants distributed directly to faculty researchers and administered by the Office of the Vice President. The Departmental Research Funds for the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences are distributed to departments by the Office of the Vice President for Research.

The Faculty Travel Fund (FTF) is available to voting members of the Brown faculty for assistance in meeting the costs of one professional trip during any academic year.

- Travel Fund to Support Dependent Care Expenses
provide awards of up to $750 per year to assist regular faculty (Lecturers, Senior lecturers, Assistant Professors, Associate Professor and Professors) with expenses incurred in association with professional travel.

The FRN at New York University is an award-winning professional development initiative that sponsors programs for faculty members from a consortium of over 50 colleges and universities.
