About The Deputy Provost

Vince Tompkins works with the Provost on a range of major activities of the Provost's Office, in establishing and implementing the priorities of the office, and representing the Provost as appropriate. He works with the Provost to oversee various academic centers and activities reporting to the Provost's Office, including the Annenberg Institute for School Reform, the Bell Gallery, the John Carter Brown Library, the John Nicholas Brown Center, Campus Compact, the Education Alliance, the Haffenreffer Museum, Leadership Alliance, and the Office of Continuing Studies. 

He also oversees administrative units such as the Office of Institutional Research and the Registrar.  He works closely with the Office of the President as well as cabinet level officers in coordinating the activity of the Provost's Office with these offices and with the University's development efforts.  He is providing staff support for the Corporation Committee on Academic Affairs and is Brown's assembly representative in the Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE).
