Parking

Brown’s parking lots and facilities are available to active employees, emeriti, medical and graduate students. Permits for visitors and contractors are also available based on availability.

A valid parking permit is required at all times in any Brown University parking lot. Parking policies will be strictly enforced. Those who park at Brown do so at their own risk and are subject to the University’s Parking Rules and Regulations.

The University reserves the right to change the parking rules, regulations, policies, parking rates, and parking violations and penalties at any time without notice.

Parking at Brown spans campus and surrounding areas, including Brown lots and University-owned streets. There are a number of accessible parking spaces, as well as Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. Parking Permit Usage Guidelines

Only the original purchaser may utilize a Brown University permit for parking on Brown University property. The permit is for use by the authorized owner only and cannot be transferred to another person. Permits are not allowed to be resold, duplicated, or altered in any manner. Loaning and swapping of permits and registering any other vehicle other than vehicles owned by the authorized permit holder are strictly prohibited.

Any employee misusing a permit will forfeit their parking assignment and will not be able to obtain a parking permit for 1 (one) year.
