Long-term effects of health and development interventions in rural Bangladesh

Empirical microeconomist Andrew Foster studies the long-term impacts of the maternal and child health and family planning project that was introduced into the Matlab Demographic Surveillance area in rural Bangladesh in the late 1970s. A multi-purpose data set is being collected from a population of Matlab residents and former residents and these data are being used to explore whether households exposed to the treatment program have received long-term benefits.
