Archaeology at Brown University
Brown University's Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World promotes the investigation, understanding, and enjoyment of the archaeology and art of the ancient Mediterranean, Egypt, and the Near East. We work in close collaboration with our colleagues in Brown University's Department of Anthropology whose research is focused on the study of the material remains of the ancient, historic, and modern Americas.
The goal of the Joukowsky Institute is to foster a diverse and interdisciplinary community of all individuals interested in the ancient world, and with archaeologists of all parts of the globe, through active fieldwork and research projects, graduate and undergraduate courses and degree programs, public events, and educational outreach initiatives.
