My current intellectual study includes twentieth and twenty-first century African American and Black Atlantic literature and culture, black feminisms and feminist theories, and black poetry and poetics. More broadly, I explore the interconnection between black experimental poetry and poetics, performance theory, and black feminist theories of enfleshment to animate questions of embodiment, intimacy, repetition, and collectivity. How, I wonder, do black cultural productions poeticize complex, enfleshed states of existence through a slew of visual-poetic-performative strategies?
