Medical school - Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine

Amen attended Wake Forest University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Health & Exercise Science. He then attended Brown University where he received a Master of Science in biotechnology.  He was previously a graduate student at Brown, researching cardiac 3D microtissues electrical propagation.  He graduated from Loyola University of Chicago for medical school. He has a long interest in dance, having served as President of a dance organization in college, a choreographer, and a volunteer for the national organization, Dance for Parkinson's Disease.  He has been a mentor to students interested in health careers and has worked with several organizations supporting and advocating for underserved communities in healthcare.  Amen maintains wellness by staying connected with friends and family, playing soccer, learning different styles of dance, and baking.
