Casandra was born and raised in Boston, MA. In 2009, she graduated from Boston University with a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research in structural biology. After graduating, she continued research in the basic sciences that was more translational to medicine. She received her medical degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2020 and helped jump start a prospective study on identifying biomarkers for patients with multiple sclerosis. She was also involved in teaching and mentoring throughout her pursuit of education. Her outside interests include indoor rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding, eating delicious food, and enjoying the beach.
