Event Strategy and Management

Plan Your Event

Our Planning Guide and Timeline provides a useful framework for visualizing events and navigating the event planning process at Brown.

We know that the process of planning events can feel intimidating. Here's where Event Strategy and Management (ESM) can help! We may assist you by offering consultation, tools or resources, or we may work with you as a partner in the full management of a high-profile event. Depending on the event, the role we play in the design, planning and execution can vary.

First, understand our scope of services and how we may work with you.

How We Work With You

Getting Started

Here we outline the tools, resources and centralized guidance available from ESM to assist you in planning and designing your event. If you are a Brown faculty or staff member — whether you develop and produce your event independently, or ESM partners with you — our step-by-step Planning Guide and Timeline will be a helpful place to start.

If you have already reserved a space, and your need is to order equipment or an event set-up, please contact Event Operations in Facilities Management, which is a separate service provider in a separate department and not part of ESM.

Student groups interested in hosting an event at Brown must contact the Student Activities Office (SAO) for specific information on planning a student event at the University.
