Brown Human Research Advisory Group (BHRAG)

The BHRAG serves as a partner to the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) in ensuring that human subjects research at Brown is conducted ethically and responsibly, while also providing vital feedback on processes and policies from the perspective of the Brown research community.

      The HRPP reviews the BHRAG roster on an annual basis. We strive to maintain an active portfolio of members from diverse disciplines and appointments. Targeted recruitment occurs on an as-needed basis. Applications from interested parties are accepted on a rolling basis and will be considered during the annual enrollment window if seats are available.

      Member Expectations
      1. Attend at least one meeting per calendar year. 
         
      2. Recommend agenda items pertinent to human subjects research at Brown.
         
      3. Communicate information presented at the BHRAG meetings to departments, centers and/or institutes in which they work.
         
      4. Bring feedback from the research community to the BHRAG meetings – both positive and constructive – regarding process and policy changes.
         
      5. Recommend and assist with prioritizing Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement interventions and initiatives.
