The News and Editorial team is currently developing a Brown University editorial style guide. We expect to post an initial version during the Fall 2016 semester.

While the conventions outlined in the editorial style guide will be created with an eye toward external audiences – the news media and the general public, for example – our goal is that is will also serve as an effective resource for other writers at Brown seeking consistency in editorial style for websites, print publications and more.

Our starting point will be the Associated Press Stylebook. Unless we establish local style guidance to the contrary, AP style will always be correct.
