From April 13-15, Brown will be hosting a conference entitled: "Being Nobody? Understanding Slavery Thirty Years After Slavery and Social Death. 

The international conference has been organized by Professor John Bodel, Chair of the Department of Classics at Brown, and Professor Walter Scheidel of Stanford University.
