The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity provides oversight of policies and procedures to ensure that Brown University is compliant with relevant federal, state and local regulations and guidelines. These include polices and procedures relating to:
- Discrimination and Harassment
- Sexual and gender-based harassment and violence (Title IX)
- Equal employment opportunity (EEO) (Title VII)
- Disabilities resources and accommodations (ADA/504)
- Non-Retaliation
OIED also oversees Brown's approach to taking affirmative action to create and implement a set of positive steps to promote equal employment opportunity, and to eliminate unlawful discrimination.
