The Joukowsky Institute is very happy to announce that Professor John F. Cherry has been recognized by Brown University's Graduate Council for his unparalleled excellence and commitment to nurturing graduate students, as the 2019 recipient of Brown's Faculty Advising and Mentoring Award.
Professor Cherry has served as Director of Graduate Studies at the JIAAW for all but three of its thirteen years of existence, with a mix of stern discipline, gentle kindness, and an occasional glass of bourbon. We can think of no one more deserving of this honor, and we are so, so pleased that the Graduate Council agrees.
