Sarah Sharpe is the Assistant Director of the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World. Prior to coming to Brown University, she was Director of Finance and Grants Management at Real Art Ways, a community arts center in Hartford, Connecticut, as well as a mediator and facilitator. She has also worked in public radio, music and entertainment journalism, nonprofit education and management, environmental advocacy, and secondary education. She received her B.A. in Literature and Society (Modern Culture and Media) from Brown University, her Master's in Modern Studies (English) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and completed doctoral work at the University of Southern California in the Critical Studies (Film and Television) program.
