Enhancing Instructional Skills

In addition to department-specific opportunities, the workshops and resources of the Program in Educational Faculty Development (PEFD) are open to all faculty and residents, across departments, who teach.  PEFD offerings are designed specifically for medical educators.  Faculty can earn a Certificate and Advanced Medical Education Training status, and can request services such as a Talk Review and Feedback session or Curriculum Consultation.  Educators may also be eligible for funding to support their on-going development in this area.
To join the PEFD listserv and to make sure that you don't miss any announcements or offerings, please email [email protected].

Design Support

Medical illustration services, as well as consultations on graphic design (including biochemical and molecular) are available free of charge to Brown University faculty from Vinnie Francis, illustration and visual design specialist. Pump up your teaching and scholarship with a visual abstract or informational graphic.

Online Learning

The University has a number of wonderful resources available to help support faculty involved in digital teaching and learning, and in digital scholarship.

Faculty paid through Brown University have free access to LinkedIn Learning's library of video courses for business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals. Search the library for "teaching" or "educational technology" resources.
