Emergency Action Plan Training (EAP)

Description:
Emergency Action Plan training is a 60 to 90 minute training session presented by Environmental Health & Safety: Fire Safety Staff.
The training will focus on topics related to emergencies both inside and outside of buildings. This training includes, but is not limited to:
- Emergency evacuation procedures
- Reporting emergencies
- Personnel accountability
- Fire prevention awareness
- Fire extinguishers and their use
- Shelter-in-place procedures
- Hostile Intruder procedures
- Emergency communications
- Building-specific information including evacuation locations
Who
Should Attend?
All faculty, staff and students should attend classroom training or complete online training.
When
Should Initial Training be Completed?
Initial Emergency Action Plan Training should be completed within
30 days of hire.
How Often
Should I Attend a Refresher Course?
Currently there is no refresher frequency requirement, but an annual refresher is recommended. Refresher training can be achieved by attending classroom training, taking online training or by reading the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to ensure familiarity.
