Who
Must Attend?
Hazardous Waste Training is required for ALL individuals who work
in an area where chemicals are used, where chemicals are stored,
or where hazardous waste is generated. This may include but is not
limited to faculty, staff, and students who work in a research or
teaching laboratory, art or production studios, print shops, stock
rooms, or maintenance areas.
When
Must Initial Training be Completed?
Initial Hazardous Waste Training is required within 30 days of initial
assignment.
How
Often Must I Attend a Refresher Course?
Hazardous Waste Training is required annually. Classroom training
is required during the first two years of attendance. After two
years of attendance, completing an on-line course offered by the
Office of Environmental Health & Safety will satisfy the Hazardous
Waste Training requirement, eliminating the need for classroom training.
