2020 Oliver Cromwell Gorton Arnold Fellowship Award

David Karambizi has been selected as an Oliver Cromwell Gorton Arnold Biological Pre-doctoral Fellow.   Established in 1913 at the bequest of Oliver Henry Arnold, Class of 1865, in memory of his father for postgraduate work in the Biology Department.   The designation of a meritorious student is made by the Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies in consultation with Graduate Program Directors.  Congratulations David!

Highlight on Ph.D. Research: Amanda Ruiz

Third-year graduate student Amanda Ruiz has been recognized in Forbes' online magazine for her work in identifying novel vaccine candidates for schistosomiasis.  A recent Editors' Pick highlights the research she is currently conducting in the Jake Kurtis lab.  Way to go Amanda!

Sigma Xi Inductee: Amanda Ruiz

Congratulations to Amanda Ruiz, who was recently inducted into Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society.  Chartered in 1900, the Sigma Xi at Brown Chapter provides the opportunity for Brown students to be part of a global, interdisciplinary society that promotes ethics and excellence in science and research.  Congratulations Amanda!

 

 

2020 Frederic Poole Gorham Award

Kelsey Huntington has been selected as a 2020 Frederic Poole Gorham Pre-doctoral Fellow.  This designation of a meritorious student is made by the Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies in consultation with Graduate Program Directors, in memory of Professor Gorham.  Kelsey recently joined the Wafik El-Deiry lab to conduct her thesis work. Congratulations Kelsey!
