Third-year graduate student Swathi Penumutchu has received an NSF Fellowship Award for her proposal "Multi-omic analysis of Purified-Plant Fibers and Prophylactic Antibiotics On the Rumen Microbiome". The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master's and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions. Congratulations to Layra Cintrón-Rivera on her selection as a 2019 Frederic Poole Gorham Pre-doctoral Fellow. This designation of a meritorious student is made by the Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies in consultation with Graduate Program Directors, in memory of Professor Gorham. Layra is conducting her thesis work in the lab of Jessica Plavicki.
