TSGP Co-Director, Sean Lawler: Study discovers a new form of traditional Chinese medicine compound improved survival of mice with brain tumors

Sean Lawler along with other researchers found that a derivative of the natural compound indirubin offers a new approach to treating glioblastoma in mice, which will inform future research in humans. Read full article here.

MPP Alumnus Dioscaris Garcia Receives MADE Award

MPP alumnus, Dr. Dioscaris Garcia, received The Mentorship Award in Diversity and Equity in Medicine on April 29, 2021.  The Mentorship Award in Diversity and Equity in Medicine (MADE) is awarded through nominations by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.

Therapeutic Sciences PhD student Jessica Scales receives NIH NRSA F31 Award

Therapeutic Sciences PhD candidate Jessica Scales was recently awarded the Kirschstein NRSA for Individual Predoctoral Fellows (F31) Award. The award supports promising doctoral candidates who will perform dissertation research and training for a PhD degree in a scientific health-related field relevant to the mission of the National Cancer Institute.
