Mission:
The Brown University Campus Collection will strengthen the creative and curricular life of the University by furthering the appreciation and enjoyment of visual arts for the Brown community.
Goals:
The Curator of Campus Collections works to preserve and exhibit Brown University Collections through compliance with museum standards through the implementation of collections management, preservation and conservation.
Strategies:

Finalize and implement a collections policy for the Campus Collection.

Complete object records that includes catalogue entry, image and description of each work in the collection.

Develop and implement routine inventory checks to enhance object security, accountability and respect.

Impose a loan policy for campus loans.

Develop a plan to address storage needs.

Interface with facilities to better anticipate building renovations and the movement of campus collection objects.

Enforce the Policy for the Movement of Objects on Brown’s campus.

Develop a long-range plan for conservation and object circulation.

Develop a strategy that balances accessibility with long-term collection preservation.

Acquire and deaccession works of art as necessary.

Create a collections strategy with the support of the Collections Committee members.

Create an annual inventory process, assign loan representatives to ensure accountability and compliance with conditions for loan.
