Kristin Danko, PhD, has been presented with the Worton Researcher in Training Award at The Ottawa Hospital Gala on Saturday, October 27, 2018 for work completed during her PhD on methods for optimizing evidence synthesis of complex interventions.
Christopher Schmid, Professor of Biostatistics and Chair of Biostatistics, along with CESH’s Valerie Rofeberg, Biostatistician and Senior Research Associate, and Stacey Springs, Investigator in Health Services, Policy and Practice, attended and presented at the 25th Cochrane Colloquium in Edinburgh, UK which took place from September 16-18, 2018.

Thomas Trikalinos, MD, Associate Professor in Health Services, Policy, and Practice and the Director of the Center for Evidence Synthesis in Health, led an AHRQ Evidence-based Practice Center project on Treatments for Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Skin with Aaron Drucker, MD, ScM, FRCPC, CESH Research Associates; Gaelen Adam. MLIS, Valerie Rofeberg, ScM and other collegues.
Ethan Balk, Associate Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice, along with other CESH and Tufts Medical Center collegues led an AHRQ Evidence-based Practice Center project on Nonsurgical Treatments for Urinary Incontinence in Women.
Congratulations to Professor Christopher H. Schmid for being appointed as chair of the Department of Biostatistics effective 1 August 2018. Schmid has been with Brown since 2012 and is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Center for Evidence Synthesis in Health. Schmid succeeds Joseph Hogan, ScD in the position of chair.
