Photography

The communications photographer in the Office of University Communications serves as the manager of Brown's digital asset management system and the adviser to campus communicators for sustaining a community of shared images for the benefit of offices across campus.

The photographer's primary photography responsibility is to support projects specifically initiated by the Office of University Communications by providing news and mission-focused images for news and social media purposes, and strategic Web and print projects the Office is initiating. Many of these images are also available to the Brown community in the University Assets group of the Brown Image Gallery (BIG).

Freelance Photography

The photographer supplies a list of approved freelancers for units across campus seeking professional photography for communications projects that the Office of Communications is not engaged in. This includes units needing operational photography (photos for guides, manuals, maps, and signage, and professional head shots for departmental Web pages, etc.).

For more information about available photography, to receive the list of approved photography freelancers or to share possible photography opportunities that may be of interest to the news operation, please email the communications photographer with any leads or questions.
