In a sort of continuation of themes from last week, think about how archaeologists present the archaeological materials we excavate. How do the authors you read deal with the politics and practicalities of communicating their work to wider audiences, on both local and global scales? To what degree are issues of ownership, nationalism and ethics involved in this part of the archaeological process? Who are the stakeholders relevant in our excavations at the John Brown House? How might your final projects and the class as a whole draw on the ideas expressed in this week's readings?
