What you should know about… Outsourcing Payroll Garnishment
As of March 1, 2019, Brown University is outsourcing garnishments to Automatic Data Processing, Inc.,( ADP). Partnering with ADP to outsource garnishments will ensure we meet all the federal and state requirements for garnishment withholding and provide a more direct/efficient service to our employees.
What will change for you?
- All court orders and releases must be forwarded immediately to ADP for processing. Send all court orders and releases to ADP via fax at (909) 612-6105.
- Call ADP’s Solution Center at (866) 324-5191 for questions concerning garnishment payments ADP remitted and orders ADP processed.
- Employees, Custodial Parents and Payees can obtain court order and payment information on ADP’s Public Portal at https://garnishments.adp.com. The case ID and Social Security Number is needed to obtain information.
- Child Support payments will be sent electronically to the state disbursement units based on the disbursement schedule already established with the respective state. Please refer to the below chart for disbursement schedule.
- All other payments will be remitted to the payees within five days following your pay date.

Disbursement Schedule for Child Support Payments
ADP remits payments electronically to the respective State’s Disbursement Unit. The schedule below indicates the number of calendar days after your pay date payments are remitted.
Example:
Your pay date is Friday, 3/1
ADP will remit your payment on Friday, 3/1 for any state with 0, 1 or 2 below.
ADP will remit your payment on Monday, 3/4 for any state with a 3 below.
ADP will remit your payment on Tuesday, 3/5 for any state with a 4 below.
ADP will remit your payment on Wednesday, 3/6 for any state with a 5 below.
