The fantastic science behind the field of "tissue engineering" using stem cells will be described in the context of developing new heart tissue as an implantable therapy for patients who suffer from heart attacks and progressive illness. The Coulombe lab aims to regenerate heart function by providing new healthy heart tissue, complete with vessels to supply nourishing blood.
