The Swearer Center is excited to invite community-based agencies to submit engagement opportunities for the summer of 2023. Opportunities may focus on direct service, organizational capacity building and/or research and assessment. This is the third summer the Swearer Center will merge the SPRINT Awards Program and iProv Summer Fellows Program to create the SPRINT - iProv Summer Fellows Program. TODAY is the deadline for host organization to submit summer 2022 community engagement opportunities. Complete the Summer 2023 - Community Engagement Position Description Template. Be sure to make a copy, save and email it to [email protected] by 5 p.m. on December 7th.
New Undergraduate Leadership & Research Program
The Swearer Center is excited to bring The Laidlaw Scholars Leadership and Research Programme to Brown University. Through the Laidlaw Scholars Program, Brown undergraduates will have the opportunity to connect their academic studies to community knowledge and action. Engaging with the strengths of local communities, Scholars will develop an expansive understanding of leadership and how we might collectively address our most pressing societal challenges. Swearer Center Peer Advisors (PA) work with staff and faculty to enhance the student experience through the Swearer Center. PAs help publicize Swearer Center programs, fellowships, and opportunities; represent the Center at events and assist in campus-wide outreach; organize informational sessions and community-building events, and meet individually and in groups with students to answer questions, share experiences, support problem-solving, develop engagement plans, and connect students to Center staff.
