  • Common Cause Rhode Island is a nonpartisan organization that promotes representative democracy by ensuring open, ethical, accountable, and effective government processes at local, state, and national levels by educating and mobilizing the citizens of Rhode Island.
     
  • Kate Bowden & Disability Rights Rhode Island: Kate is the lead attorney for DRRI’s voting rights grant, for which she spearheads systemic advocacy, outreach, and training activities to ensure full participation in the electoral process for people with disabilities. In her career, Kate has presented to municipal officials, election officials, disability advocates, persons with disabilities, and their family members on diverse topics, including guardianship and alternatives to guardianship, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and voting rights and procedures. Disability Rights Rhode Island is part of the national network of Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agencies created by Congress in every state and territory to help secure and advance the rights of people with disabilities.
