Voting at Swearer Center

About

The Swearer Center is working with students and other partners to make it as easy as possible for students to access the right to vote. Resources on this website will help students, staff, and faculty navigate the voting process.

Resources
  • All In Challenge Action Plan - clear, actionable, and coordinated set of goals and strategies to increase voter registration, education and turnout for the next election cycle, as well as to embed these strategies within the culture of Brown.

  • Brown Votes - a student-led initiative working in partnership with the Swearer Center designed to conduct and coordinate efforts to improve voter registration, voting participation, and civic engagement at Brown University.

  • LibGuides: Brown Votes and Voting Information - this guide helps Brown students, staff, and faculty find FAQs, voting-related resources, and a place to ask questions. Created in partnership with the Swearer Center and the Brown University Library.

  • “The Nineteenth at 100” - a website created by the Pembroke Center, focused on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment. This site acts as a clearinghouse for in-person and virtual events at Brown and in Rhode Island touching on suffrage and voting rights (and the lack thereof), as well as provides voting and other resources.

  • TurboVote - a website where Brown students, staff, and faculty can easily register to vote, request an absentee ballot, and sign up for election reminders.

  • Voting at Brown - Communications Toolkit - A toolkit created by the Swearer Center which provides partners – including centers, departments, students, and faculty at Brown University – with the assets they need to promote voter registration and participation.
