Rachel will study classical performance and composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with the intention of producing a digital recording of classical music and her own compositions. "I grew tremendously studying at the San Francisco Conservatory both as a pianist and a person. Although I ultimately chose science as a career path, the lessons of musical expression, discipline and risk taking are ones that remain with me to this day. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity I had, and even though my days are filled with bench work and patient care, I still find time to study classical piano with the same teacher I studied under at Brown."

Following her graduation from Brown, Rachel Wozniak worked as a middle school and high school science teacher in Brooklyn, New York. Her three years spent teaching inspired her to pursue an MD/PhD at Tufts so that she could continue to work directly with people. She finished her PhD in Genetics in 2009 and her medical degree in May, 2012. After an internship in Internal Medicine, Rachel is in her residency at the University of Rochester in Ophthalmology.
