Developing an Economically Viable, Targeted Drug Delivery System: Synthesis of Functionalized Polynorbornene Polymer Nanocapsules from Iron Oxide Nanoparticle Substrates

Faculty Sponsor: Amit Basu

The synthesis of polymer nanocapsules utilizing gold substrates has been demonstrated. However, the use of gold is cost prohibitive, preventing commercial use of the technology. Shane worked on creating polymer nanocapsules from affordable substrates in an economically viable manner by developing a new nanoparticle-ligand system.
