As a Social Innovation Fellow, Sam has worked with many stakeholders across Providence’s food access landscape to help combat food insecurity. From 2019-2020, he interned with Hope’s Harvest Rhode Island, helping them to develop a food safety plan, which ultimately led to Sam's interest in food policy. From 2021-2022, he interned with the Rhode Island Food Policy Council, developing policy briefs and conducting research on areas of legislative interest. Sam plans to continue learning how to best address food insecurity from a policy level in law school, as he will attend Harvard Law School as a member of the class of 2027. Outside of the Social Innovation Fellowship, Sam served as the Vice President of Brown's Undergraduate Council of Students from 2021-2022 and was involved in theatre on campus, most significantly through directing Musical Forum’s 2022 spring musical, RENT. In his free time, Sam enjoys reading novels of all kinds and watching the reality TV show Survivor.
