Will Chai is a rising junior studying Health and Human Biology at Brown. Being from a low-income, first generation immigrant background, he is no stranger to free clinics and cares deeply about bridging health disparities and bringing health equity to underserved populations. As a sophomore, Will helped a Brown alumni start a free clinic, WTL Health, following the closure of a major hospital in Pawtucket, RI. Currently, he serves as the Bonner Fellow site leader at the clinic, where he coordinates administrative operations, manages volunteers and plans community engagement events such as a public workshop on Medicaid enrollment. He also currently serves on the 13-seat American Red Cross National Youth Council as the leader of the largest working group and an executive committee member. He works with the council to represent 100,000 youth volunteers and advises Red Cross policy regarding youth. Will aspires to be a physician-politician involved in healthcare policy and reform. In his free time, he enjoys lion dancing and being a mediocre guitar player.
