Lauren Fung is a rising junior from the San Francisco Bay Area. At Brown, she studies Economics and Public Policy with hopes of working towards systemic housing and education policy reform. Passionate about local community-centered work, Lauren is a Site Leader and Diversity and Inclusion chair within HOPE, a homeless advocacy group on campus. Similarly, she is interested in how policy, research, and direct service can interact to create intersectional policy. Last summer she researched as a Fellow for the Annenberg Institute of Education and continues with education research under the political science Professor Susan Moffitt. Currently, she is an intern for Senator Jack Reed and hopes to synthesize insight from the legislative process with policy analysis skills to understand the most effective methods of change-making. Lauren is the Editor in Chief of Visions, a pan-Asian Brown/RISD literary and arts magazine, and in her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and painting.
