Gloria L. Johnson is a Providence, RI native and has lived there most of her life, with the exception of ten years where she lived in Virginia and Maryland as a child of a Navy officer. She graduated from Central High School in 1984 and attended Fisher College in Boston and Johnson and Wales in Providence. Since 2006, she has been employed at Santander Bank as an Operations Manager and Risk Analyst, respectively.  

Gloria has a strong passion for serving the community, particularly in the two areas of affordable housing/homeownership and equitable education. Her community engagement includes formerly serving as Board President of West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation and current Board Treasurer for YouthBuild Preparatory Academy, both in Providence as well as other community-oriented committees. She was also the Campaign Treasurer for the Kobi for Providence Mayor Campaign in 2018. She is extremely passionate about the importance of voting and community service.
