Chinyere is a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at Brown. A scholar of the sociologies of education and culture, her interests are in the roles of race, class, gender, and power within elite academic contexts. Having experienced these complex school settings through the eyes of a student, teacher, and trustee, Chinyere’s studies are deeply influenced by her positionality and primarily center identity, meaning-making, and development of self for young people.
