Megan Feragne '23 is a Masters of Science degree candidate at Brown's School of Public Health. She is concentrating in Global Health, exploring how social, biological, and ecological factors during early childhood can impact health long term outcomes particularly for Spanish speakers in the U.S. and abroad. Megan has prioritized community engagement through projects during her time as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar to Spain and as a Hassenfeld Scholar in Central Falls, RI. Her thesis investigates linkages between pre-term birth and language development of children from Spanish-speaking families in Rhode Island. Upon graduating in May 2023, Megan hopes to combine grant writing, research, and implementation science to improve literacy and address adverse childhood experiences.
