Yenee Berta '26 is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International and Public Affairs on a Development Track as well as a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Yenee is a 2022-23023 Arthur Liman Public Interest Fellow planning on working at Legal Hand, a community based non-profit proving free legal assistance, in New York City this summer. Additionally, Yenee is a part of the Bonner fellows, a four year organization dedicated to serving the needs of the Providence community. Yenee has begun working at New Urban Arts, a non-profit that engages Providence public school students in art, music, and academics after school. Yenee is also a part of SEE (Students for Equity in Education) where she has helped with outreach efforts to public schools, discussed strategies for equitable admission to Brown with our Dean of Admissions, Logan Powell, and helped plan an pro-affirmative action protest. Most recently, Yenee has joined HOPE (Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere) an organization that partners with the Rhode Island Homeless Advocacy Project in order to advocate for equitable treatment of people experiencing homelessness. Additionally, Yenee is part of a team that conducts weekly outreach to provide housing insecure people with resources they request. Aside from her academic and leadership pursuits, Yenee enjoys traveling, poetry, art, reading, exercise, music, volunteering, and dancing.
