Cartie Werthman is a rising junior from Atlanta, Georgia with a concentration in International Relations with a Spanish focus. She is passionate about the need to combat global warming through policy, and works in the Climate and Development Lab researching the impact of the climate change denial network on environmental legislation. She also works as a National Science Foundation researcher, looking at the ways in which public relations firms have facilitated the climate denial movement. She is a Section Manager for the U.S. Board on the Brown Political Review. Cartie was previously a writer for the U.S. Board, where she covered topics such as the impact of the opioid epidemic and state level climate change legislation. Upon graduation in May 2021, she intends to attend law school to pursue her interest in environmental law and policy. Cartie plays on the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee club team, Cosmic Rays, in her free time.
