Zanagee is a rising junior from Connecticut concentrating in Political Science, with intentions to declare for Environmental Studies. For the past few years, Zanagee has worked at the intersection of environmental justice and climate policy through a youth led climate justice organization called Zero Hour, which he co-founded in 2017. At Brown, Zanagee has continued this work by providing research support to the Rhode Island governor’s office on plastic pollution in the state and actions to incorporate in the Transportation and Climate Initiative, as well as working with the Sunrise Movement to organize the global climate strikes in September and November of 2019. Zanagee hopes to continue engaging in research and coursework studying Arctic policy and adaptation options for communities already facing the impacts of climate change. Additionally, Zanagee is passionate about language learning and has studied both Spanish and Russian at Brown. On campus, Zanagee serves as the Secretary of the Black Pre Law Association, the Chair of Campus Life for the Undergraduate Council of Students, and the Vice President of Zeta Delta Xi. Upon graduation, he hopes to attend law school.
