Kai Salem is a junior at Brown University concentrating in environmental studies. She is passionate about making the planet safer by building climate resilience locally and beyond. She is eager to engage in her communities to move towards a clean energy future. In Rhode Island, she has worked on environmental policy, green infrastructure projects, and climate activism. She is a member of Swearer Center's student advisory committee, where she hopes to focus public service through an engaged scholarship lens: concepts like co-creation of knowledge, reciprocal partnerships, community learning, bridge-building reflection, and impact. Kai loves to watch football, cook for her co-op, and hear live music.
